I have been quiet on these pages but wonderfully busy in reality. I am part of the “Corona in de Stad” virtual collection with the Amsterdam Museum. It was good to document and show a very tiny bit of what I am doing.
The moments of intensity the last few months have caused have been challenging and productive. Initially I was locked in during strawberry season. I was eating them, and drawing them… I became fascinated by their seed patterns. I transposed their patterns from a very soft squashy surface to the fragile surface of egg shells. I wanted to create the same passing fragility while working with an entirely different surface. The drawings were made with fineliner. The totality became a necklace of eggshells.
